Alex Jeffers
Alex was born and bred in Bandon, West Cork, where the Jeffers family have been at the heart of the town's business community for the last 5 generations. After training as a piano tuner/technician in Wales during the 1980s, Alex took over the piano department of the family business and developed it into what is now one of the leading musical instrument companies in Ireland. Alex plays a wide range of musical instruments but piano remains his firm favourite.
In 2000 Alex took up flying as a hobby. He is now a fully qualified commercial pilot and when he's not tuning pianos, he works as a captain with Stobart Air operating for Aer Lingus Regional. Alex is an enthusiastic open water swimmer, enjoys the outdoors and has recently learned passable Spanish. Although not a fluent Gaelgoir, he enjoys improving his Irish, and he is very involved in his local church. He lives in Bandon with his wife, two daughters, three dogs and three cats.
Jonathan Smyth
Managing Director Jonathan Smyth has worked in all facets of the piano industry for over twenty years. Jonathan trained in the Leeds College of Music where he received the Student of the Year award. He represented the college at the prestigious David Marks piano tuning competition and proved to be a winner. Jonathan brings a wealth of knowledge and invaluable expertise to the company and continues to push the company to new levels.
Jonathan lives in Bandon, with his wife Rhonda and two children Amy and Conor. Jonathan enjoys spending time with his family, all water sports, boating and the occasional run.
Leo Guedan
After 4 years in La Sorbonne University in Paris studying Geography, Leo decided to go for a more hands on approach to life. Since he had played the piano for years, a career in the music industry had always appealed to him. He went on to train at Newark and Sherwood College near Nottingham, and qualified as a Piano Tuner/Technician in 1999.
Leo has worked for Jeffers of Bandon since 2000.
He is married with three children, all of them with an interest in music. Outside work, Leo is the musical director of the Bandon Concert Band and plays saxophone in a WoodWind trio.
Frances Bryan
Frances Bryan joined Jeffers of Bandon in 2000 following 24 years with accountants and tax consultants FDC. As well as bringing her wide experience in accounting and book-keeping, Frances looks after reception, mans the phones, and is usually the first person you meet when you walk into our showrooms.
A native of West Cork, living in Rossmore, Frances enjoys country life, gardening and cooking.
